Mrs. Bessie Lee Smalley age 87 of Arab passed away Wed. Sept. 28, 2011, at Golden Living Arab. Mrs. Smalley was born on Nov. 25, 1923, in Marshall County, AL to Roy and Tempie Lee Murray Stephens. She was a homemaker and member of New Brashier's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death was her Husband: Jim Fred Edward Bearfield; She later married Rayburn Martin Smalley who passed away on Sept. 7, 1991; She was also preceded by: Daughter: Virginia Bearfield Ferguson; Son: Jim Bearfield; Sister: Lottie Stephens Wallace and Grandson: Jim Ed Bearfield

Mrs. Smalley is survived by Daughter and Son in law: Sally Jo and Kelly DeArmond of Arab; Grandsons: Robert DeArmond of Crossville and John Ferguson of Arab; Great Grandchildren: Christopher DeArmond, Jonathan Ferguson, Samuel Ferguson, Brandi Burgett and Jessica Burgett; 4 Great Great Grandchildren

Graveside Service was held on Saturday Oct. 1, 2011, at 11 AM at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Brother Beaul Hunkapiller officiating. There was no visitation. Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were: Kelly DeArmond, Robert DeArmond, Christopher DeArmond, John Ferguson, Jonathan Ferguson, Samuel Ferguson and Jerry Aaron.
