Mr. Byron Braz Bates age 92 of Union Grove passed away Monday
Jan. 23, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Bates was born on Feb. 22,
1919, in Marshall County to John B. and Dora Martin Bates. He
served in the Army in World War II, was a farmer and married to
Thessell Bodine Bates.
He is survived by Wife: Thessell Bates of Union Grove; Sons:
Kenneth Bates and Phillip Bates of Union Grove; Daughter: Martha
Bates of Huntsville; Brother: Lewis Bates of Arab; 6 Grandchildren
and 7 Great Grandchildren ;Preceded in death by: Son: Darrell
Bates
Funeral Service was Wed. Jan. 25, 2012, at 1 PM at Gober Funeral
Chapel with Bro. Arthur Feemster officiating. Burial was in Arab
Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was from Noon until Funeral time on
Wed. at Gober Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers were: Kevin Besser, Kevin
Howse, Darren Bennett, John Bates, Kenneth Bates and Phillip
Bates.
