Mrs. Effie Akridge age 95 of Arab, Scant City area, passed away Thurs. Feb. 16, 2012, at Shepherd's Cove. Mrs. Akridge was born on Sept. 29, 1916, in Etowah County to William Earnest and Nannie Leona Burgess Pentecost. She was a homemaker and enjoyed Bowling with Senior Bowling League. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. She was a member of New Brashier's Chapel United Methodist Church.

 

Survivors include: Husband: Robert Hugh "Bob" Akridge of Arab; Son: William Robert "Bobby" (Pauline) Akridge of Canton, GA; Daughter: Linda Akridge Lucas of Huntsville; Brothers: Clyde Pentecost of Southside, J.C. Pentecost of Gallant, Robert C. "Pete" Pentecost of Anniston, Hugh Pentecost of Locust Fork and Tommy Pentecost of Centre; Sisters: Earnestine Vinson of Southside, Jewel Sapp of Southside and Billie Jo Brown of Centre 6 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild

 

Funeral Service was Sunday Feb. 19, 2012, at 1PM at Gober Funeral Chapel with Mike Shirley officiating. Burial was at 3 PM Sunday at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation was Sat. from 2-4 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel.
