Mr. James "Paul" Edwards age 75 of Union Grove passed away Sat.
Sept. 17, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Edwards was born on April 24,
1936, in Morgan County to George Roy and Amy Lois Compton Edwards.
He was a graduate of Union Hill High School and was married for 54
years to Sadie Francine Lawrence Edwards who preceded him in death
on Oct. 21, 2009.
He worked for several companies over his career before
retirement including, Brown Engineering, Thiokol Chemical,
Huntsville Manufacturing and Genesco Shoe. Since then he has
enjoyed "hanging out at Morgan City Salvage".
Mr. Edwards is survived by Son and Daughter in law: Dwight and
Brenda Edwards of Union Grove; Brother: George Edwards, Jr. of
Scant City; Step Granddaughter: Heather Call of Huntsville;
Brothers and Sisters in law: J.C. and Martha Lawrence and Joe and
Dollie Lawrence of Union Grove; 3 Nieces and 2 Nephews;
Preceded in death by Wife: Sadie Francine Edwards, Parents:
George Roy and Amy Lois Compton Edwards; Brothers: William "Modie"
Edwards and Carlis Brown
Funeral Service was Wed. Sept. 21, 2011, at 2 PM at Rescue
United Methodist Church with Rev. Eldridge Criscoe officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. He lay in state at
the Church on Wed. from 1-2 PM. Visitation was Tues. from 6-8 PM at
Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers were: Steve, Carl, Brad and David Lawrence, Willie
Boyles and Craig Edwards.
