Mrs. Opal Maze age 87 of Arab passed away Friday Nov. 18, 2011, at Marshall Medical Center North. Mrs. Maze was born on May 20, 1924, in Cullman County, AL to George W. and Lunar Phillips Parmer. She was married to John V. Maze who preceded her in death and was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. Mrs. Maze graduated from Wallace State College in 1976 with an Associate Degree in Commercial Food Preparation.

She is survived by Son and Daughter in law: Kenneth and Paula Maze of Guntersville; Daughter and Son in law: Brenda and Robin Noble of Arab; Grandchildren: Theresa Holmes, Charlene Holmes, Denise Childers, Joey Clark, Regina Rhodes and Tina Green; 14 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren; Preceded in death by Husband: John V. Maze; Children: Carolyn Holmes, Jean Webb, Jo Ann Clark, Terry Maze, Phillip Maze and David Lee Maze

Funeral Service was Sunday Nov. 20, 2011, at 2 PM at New Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation was Sat. from 6-8 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel. She lay in state at the Church on Sunday from 1-2 PM.

Pallbearers were: Joey Clark, Mitchell Scott, Dillon Clark, Lance Green, Brian Childers and Billy Sellers.
