Mrs. Tempie Virginia Smallwood age 80 of Arab passed away
Tuesday Nov. 8, 2011, at Golden Living Center Arab. Ms. Smallwood
was born April 14, 1931, in Union Grove, AL to Andy and Lizzie
Willis Perkins. She was a homemaker and remembered by many in Arab
for her love of downtown. She made frequent trips walking downtown
and spent many hours in Latham's, the L-Rancho and many downtown
shops. She was a diehard Alabama fan and Jeff Gordon fan.
Survivors include: Sons and Daughter in law: James and Melissa
Smallwood and Jerry Smallwood of Arab; Daughters and Sons in law:
Lola Vincent of Temple, GA, Debra and Charlie Olsson of Greenville,
AL, Deborah and Richard Keeton of Arab, Sheila and Matt Laleme of
North Pole, Alaska, and Summer and Brandon Sims of Arab; Brother:
Leonard Perkins of Arab and Sister: Jessie Lee Salters of
Albertville; 15 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren and a Host
of Nieces and Nephews other Relatives and Friends. Preceded in
death by Parents: Andy and Lizzie Perkins; Five Sisters and Two
Brothers
Funeral Service was Sat. Nov. 12, 2011, at 2 PM at Gober Funeral
Chapel with Clyde Perkins officiating. Burial was in Arab Memorial
Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday from 6-8 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers were: Brandon Kaylor, Ray Henderson, Rodney Dabbs,
Rober Venable, Mitch Copeland and Lamar Slaton .
