Bobby Ray Berry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bobby Ray Berry age 66, of Mt. Olive, AL and formerly of Arab passed away Tues. Feb. 7, 2017, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Birmingham. Bobby was born on April 22, 1950, in Arab the son of Albert Clyde and Hazel Mann Berry. He was married to Susan Deerman Berry and they lived in Arab for many years before moving to the Birmingham area. He worked at Gober Funeral Chapel in the late 60’s and 70’s. He went to work for the Arab Police Dept. and worked there for almost 10 years before going into the furniture business. He was a manager for Heilig- Meyers working here in Arab and then transferring to the B’ham area where he retired. Bobby was a member of the Church of the Highlands. Survivors include his Wife, Susan Berry of Mt. Olive; Son and Daughter in law, Brant and Ashley Berry of Homewood; Daughter, Laura Berry of Gardendale; Brother and Sister in law, Ronald and Ramona Berry of Arab; Sister and Brother in law, Virginia and Frank Price of Priceville; Sister in law, Linda Berry of Arab and Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents and a Brother, Charles Berry. Funeral Service will be Thurs. Feb. 9, 2017, at 2 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel with Bro. Doug Moore and Bro. Mike Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Brashier’s Chapel Cemetery, with Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be Thurs. from 12 PM until time of service at Gober Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will be, Phil Miller, Kevin Garrison, Wes Mims, Richard Campbell, Brandon Berry and Jim Tinley. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Region’s Bank where a fund has been established to assist with funeral expenses.
