J H Harden

February 18, 1945 - March 11, 2018

Rev. Jimmie Henry “J H” Harden, 73 of Arab passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Harden was born in Marshall County February 18, 1945, the son of Henry M and Verna L Abney Harden. He was a high school graduate, and served in the United States Army. He was married to the former Tillie J Cole on July 20, 1973. He had been retired about 9 years from Wayne Farms where he was a utility man for 36 years. He was ordained by Shoal Creek Baptist Church in the mid 70’s and went to Pastor at Beech Springs Baptist Church in Parches Cove. He also later served as Pastor of New Jerusalem at Joppa and Blessed Hope in Morgan City. He preached at numerous Churches through the years in Alabama and Georgia. J.H. was a member of East Albertville Baptist Church. J H is survived by his wife: Tillie Harden of Arab; a daughter and son-in-law: Jeannie and Dwayne Roberson of Arab; three granddaughters: Michaela, Abigail and Lucinda Clemmer; two brothers and sisters-in-law: James M and Joan Hardin and Hershell and Peggy Hardin all of Arab; two brothers-in-law: Eddie Cole of Hanceville and Hulon and Kim Cole also of Hanceville and a host of nieces, nephews, great and great, great nieces and nephews, several cousins, other relatives, his church family and many dear friends and neighbors; he was preceded in death by a grandson: Michael Henry Clemmer, his parents: Henry M and Verna L Harden, two sisters: Edna Earl Maze and Bobbie Jean Jordan. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Gober Funeral Chapel, Brothers Mike Harbin, Daniel Latham and David Summey, officiating and Brother Shannon Burbanks officiating the graveside service. Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel, directing. Pallbearers will be Shane Hardin, Jason Hardin, Michael Hardin, Chris Hardin, Jason Whorton and Brian Conkle. Honorary will be Derek Whorton, Caleb Whorton, Gene Brown, Steven Hardin and Kevin Hardin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Gober Funeral Chapel.
